What are they buying online this season?
1. Books/Magazine
2. Music
3. Videos/DVDs
4. Toys/games
5. Apparel
6. Holiday/seasonal items
7. Home electronics
8. Health/Beauty
9. Gift cards

These are the top 10 products that consumers are buying this holiday season. Use this data to your advantage. A good start would be to call up businesses that sell these types of products and ask if they have a Web site. If they don’t or if theirs is outdated, help them set one up. After all, they need a site and you need a sale. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

Black Friday Specials
The day after Thanksgiving is frequently referred to as “Black Friday”. It earned its nickname because sales are typically so good on this day that business owners are in the “black” by the end of it. It also is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Are you prepared for this online rush with a well-planned Black Friday Special?

Here are some guidelines to follow:

-- Have you carefully chosen the best, gift-appropriate products in your special?
-- Have you updated your keywords and submitted them to promote your site in the best search engines?
-- Is your “Black Friday Specials!” section easy to find on the homepage?
-- Have you double-checked to make sure that your ad is designed well, working properly and has no broken links?
-- Is it designed with a clear deadline to create a sense of urgency in your customers so they will buy immediately?
-- Have you linked your page to-and-from related retailers to broaden your customer traffic and encourage referrals and upgrades?

Take the time to promote your specials properly and watch the black ink rise in your ledger.
